About Cuddington
Cuddington is an award-winning village in which approximately 545 people happily reside. It lies above the Nether Winchendon Valley, with the River Thame at its base, and is surrounded by the attractive landscape of the Vale of Aylesbury.

The heart of the village is designated as a conservation area.

The oldest building in Cuddington is the Church of St Nicholas, situated near the centre of the village. Church, records show the names of vicars stretching back to the 11th century. The church building is open to visitors during the day all the year round. The services are listed in the porch. St Nicholas aims to be a strong Christian family, meeting different needs through varied services and Bible based teaching, and seeking to show something of the love of Jesus to those around. Go to ’Places of Worship’ for further information.

The village is also notable for the many house and boundary walls that are made of wychert. This material was made out of local clay mixed with chopped straw and stones and the walls were built on a foundation of rocks called a ‘grumpling’. This type of building material is unique to Cuddington and three adjacent villages in Buckinghamshire.

The Fete and Rooftops

The annual fete attracts thousands of visitors each year to the village and is recognised as being amongst the very best in the county.

Cuddington has a thriving and vibrant community. A school, pub/restaurant, churches, village shop/post office, hairdresser and village hall are all well supported. See village amenities

Cuddington has been featured in a number of films and television dramas, notably and repeatedly ‘The Midsomer Murders’. The Parish Council welcome such activities.

The village of Haddenham, one mile away, provides additional facilities such as a Medical Centre, Junior School and Railway Station
